The Felixstowe Chamber of Trade and Commerce has today announced that Kelly Sayers has resigned as their Vice Chairman
Ms Sayers, an employment law specialist at the Ipswich firm of solicitors Prettys, filed her resignation with the Chamber at its last committee meeting held on 20th October.
Since taking on the role in January Ms Sayers expressed that increased professional commitments had made it difficult to dedicate as much time as she felt necessary to offer real value to the Chamber and its members and so was left with no other option than to stand down.
Peter Dawes, the Chamber’s Chairman said: “It’s disappointing to lose members of the committee but as I always say, as volunteers the committee members’ professional duties take priority”.
The departure of Ms Sayers has left an opening on the Chamber’s committee for the role of Vice Chairman and as such they are inviting those interested in being considered to contact them on 07747773537or at info@felixstowechamber.co.uk
Mr Dawes said: “The role of Vice Chairman is the same as other committee members but we just ask the person in the role to deputise for me on the odd occasion I’m unable to make a meeting”.
He added: “The committee and I would like to extend our thanks to Kelly for the work she did whilst with the Chamber and we look forward to welcoming whoever replaces her in the role”.
