LAST CHANCE TO REGISTER FOR EXPERT ADVICE TO IMPROVE YOUR RESOURCE EFFICIENCY
Companies from Suffolk are being encouraged to register for a free taster workshop which has been designed to help them review and improve their environmental performance and deliver cost savings to their business as a result.
The EMS Club, the latest business support service delivered by Resource Efficiency East, will be holding the workshop at Ickworth House, Bury St Edmunds on 14th July to give businesses an insight into the types of topics covered and support available during the club’s 10 month programme.
Businesses who decide to sign up to the club following the taster session can then attend the club’s free half day sessions once a month to receive the practical support needed to build an Environment Management System (EMS) and help identify long-term cost savings.
Antony Gough, Director of Resource Efficiency East, comments: “The EMS Club was created after we found that whilst small businesses will often benefit from adopting an EMS, many lack the knowledge and time to implement such a system unaided. The club will be run by experienced professionals well versed in the subject who have the ability to share this knowledge in a straightforward manner.”
Places on The EMS Club programme are limited to just 15 and interested businesses are encouraged to check eligibility for the programme by visiting www.resourceefficiencyeast.org.uk/the-ems-club.aspor calling Resource Efficiency East on 01733 294 524.
Resource Efficiency East is jointly funded by the East of England Development Agency and the European Regional Development Fund to deliver specialist advice, guidance and support on how businesses in the East of England can reduce the use of resources including water, energy and materials and achieve financial savings as a result.
In 2009 the programme identified £1.5 million worth of cost savings for businesses in the East of England, approximately £7,500 per company supported. By the end of May 2010 over 450 businesses had received support from Resource Efficiency East which aims to assist a further 500-600 small businesses by March 2011.
